Veterinary Health Care

Which pet food should I feed my dog?

Each pet has individual dietary needs. Science Diet/Hill's, Royal Canin and Iams are some of our recommended brands. Ask your veterinarian which diet is right for your pet.

My pet has been diagnosed with a medical condition I’m not familiar with; where do I find more information about it?

One of our veterinarians would be more than happy to discuss the medical condition of your pet. If you wish to conduct further research, many veterinary colleges and professional organizations offer plentiful information regarding your pet’s diagnosis.

What is a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant?

Veterinary assistants assist veterinarians with pet exams. They hold your pet so the doctors can perform their exam, they can run lab work, take x-rays, prep rooms and help with medical record keeping.

Veterinary technicians serve as a nurse for your pet. They can perform all the duties that a veterinary assistant can but they also assist the veterinarian with treating patients, administering medications, surgeries, dental cleanings, and other procedures.

Why does my pet need dental care?

Dental disease is the number one problem in dogs and cats. Although we don't expect your pets mouth to smell minty fresh neither should it be foul smelling. Foul smelling breath and discolored teeth are signs of dental disease. Not only are these conditions unsightly they are also very painful and can cause heart disease, respiratory disease and affect other organs as well. With each exam your pet will receive a comprehensive oral exam and you will receive qualified treatment advice on how best to keep their mouth healthy and pain free well into their golden years. Our professional teeth cleaning performed under general anesthesia include full mouth x-rays, complete cleaning and polishing, and a full oral exam. Appropriate treatments are performed only after we have your approval.

Why should I bring my pet in for regular veterinary visits when they’re healthy?

Annual physicals for humans are important even though we may feel healthy. Why should pets be any different? Regular examinations ensure your pet is up to the healthiest standards. For some perspective, the cost of exams are far less expensive than surgeries and medications your pet could potentially need.

What can I expect from my pet’s wellness exam?

We take the time to get to know your pet during their wellness exam. One of our team members will review their past medical history and perform a thorough physical examination to ensure they are living a healthy life.

What vaccinations does my pet really need?

During a physical examination, our veterinarians will determine which vaccinations your pet needs. We provide vaccinations so your pet not only remains healthy but is protected against harmful diseases.
